At least in Odessa, spring is in the air! I hope everyone had a great winter, and is ready to dive into spring. We are definitely gearing up for a busy one around here. I want to thank everyone for your business this fall and winter. We have had a great year and are looking forward to another one in 2008. I can assure our crew is doing everything they can to maintain and continue to provide you with a high level of service. We also know that we can always improve upon our success, so please feel free to give me or any member of our team a call at anytime.

Please remember to get us the second exemption certificate for both replacement parts and services for farm machinery and equipment. This will cover you for a sales tax exemption for both replacement parts and labor on qualifying machinery. As part of the economic stimulus package you are now allowed to write off a significant portion of your equipment purchase for 2008. Limits for write-off amount in the first year for section 179 has been increased from $128,000 to $250,000. On top of this is a bonus depreciation of 50% of the value of any new equipment purchase. You also can take your standard depreciation. In a nut shell if you bought $800,000 worth of equipment in 2008 you could write-off about $550,000 in the first year. I would like to welcome a few new employees to our crew. We have recently hired Dan Bartleson as new mechanic in our CC shop, Devin Ryan as a new mechanic in our Odessa shop and Jeff Malone in auto-guidance sales out of CC. We want to welcome all of these guys to our team.
